I was at the recent Microsoft Tech Summit in Sydney where I was learning all about the latest Microsoft bits and pieces, and being a Community Reporter:

 

I ended up winning from one of the vendors a Raspberry Pi 3 with case. I thought it’d be a good idea to give this away on my blog! I did plug it in once to make sure it works, but beyond that it’s brand new :)

What do you need to do to win this? Not much! I don’t like having much fluff around these occasional giveaways, so there’s just a few simple ways to enter. Drawn in 2 weeks, just in time for Christmas :) The Pi will sit on my desk in front of me until then, waiting for it’s new owner. You’ll need a Micro SD card and some sort of USB power source.

Samsung Gear VR Competition

After winning Netwrix’s Sysadmin Blog Award for Tech Tips, the prize of the Samsung Gear VR has turned up today for me in the mail.

I’ve decided to give this away as a prize instead – I have opened it to make sure it wasn’t damaged in transit as the box is a little beaten up, but haven’t used it as I don’t have a Samsung phone :)

Simple and straight forward, use the widget below to enter. Worldwide entry allowed, assuming the local post office will let me send it to you and I’m not breaking any international laws.

If the winner wants to do a review or share a photo of them with the prize, I’d gladly share that on my blog too, but this isn’t a requirement.

Several weeks ago, I compared the Lenovo ThinkPad E560 vs HP ProBook 450 G3 where both laptops came out pretty evenly well, with a few pros and cons depending on your preferences.

I’ve decided (with Lenovo’s blessing) that the Lenovo ThinkPad E560 should be given away as a prize to an Australian or New Zealand resident!

Sorry to other countries, but I’m personally paying for shipping on this and don’t know how much postage would cost to all corners of the globe, plus the power pack has the Australian/New Zealand connector on it :)
